The Falls of Richmond, 4/21/2012: Extomporaneous Show Part Deux!
Hi folks! The Falls of Richmond is back this week for possibly (sniff) the final show of the season! So, I’m going to broadcast in style, flying completely by the seat of my pants!

Tune in at 7 PM on wdcefm.org or on WDCE 90.1 FM in the Richmond area for some great music to kick off your summer. I found an album of music from the 20s and 30s about barbecue in the studio, and I’m itching to play it! Join me, won’t you?

The Falls of Richmond 4-14-2012: Extemporaneous Show!
The Falls of Richmondon Saturday, 4-14, will be for the most part, extemporaneous! That’s right, completely random!

This is new territory forThe Falls of Richmond, so bear with me as I give it a go! Of course, there will be some pre-planned tracks (something from John McGann will definitely be played, as well as some music from Easter). But, this will be a play-by-play show!
“Why is this happening this weekend of all weekends?” you might ask. Well, The Man In The Bowler Hat had a bit of a wild week, and he’s going to be in Charlottesville for most of Saturday, so he’s not been able to make his playlist, that’s what. But it will be an adventure! So tune in, 7-9 PM—you won’t be sorry!

The Falls of Richmond: Easter Weekend Show POSTPONED
Hi folks,
I’m going to have to cancel tonight’s broadcast of The Falls of Richmond due to academic and religious obligations (big paper to write, and an early morning rise-up for Easter tomorrow). So, I won’t be on the air tonight, and am postponing the Easter Weekend broadcast until next week. This will give me a chance to reduce some stress on my end while allowing me to make a good program for you.
See you next week, and have a blessed Easter,
Nils Niemeier

PS. On a different note, John McGann, a great mandolinist and educator, passed away on Friday. We’re keeping his folks in our prayers. Here’s John, playing “The Clap” by Steve Howe of Yes:
